Winners of the Disney on Broadway School of Excellence program have been revealed, with each set to receive free performance licenses to Disney musicals for productions between fall 2025 and December 2026. The Educational Theatre Foundation, Disney Theatrical Group, and Music Theatre International created the initiative to recognize middle and high schools nationwide for their exceptional student-led involvement in theatre production.

Applying schools were asked to demonstrate creativity, leadership, and student engagement in theatrical disciplines on both sides of the curtain, like stagecraft, direction, performance, choreography, and design. Winning schools will also receive exclusive educational webinars with industry professionals.

The winning schools are Bowie High School in Bowie High School in Bowie, Maryland; Burlington Central High School in Burlington, Illinois; California Trail Middle School in Olathe, Kansas; Charles Henderson High School in Troy, Alabama; Crystal Lake South High School in Crystal Lake, Illinois; Desert Hot Springs High School in Desert Hot Springs, California; Fort Bend Christian Academy in Sugar Land, Texas; Fort Worth Academy of Fine Arts (FWAFA) in Fort Worth, Texas; Golden Valley High School in Merced, California; Greenwood School in Jacksonville, Florida; John W. “This program celebrates what happens when students are empowered to lead, create, and collaborate,” says ETF President Dr. Jennifer Katona in a statement. “By giving young artists the tools to tell these beloved stories, we’re not just supporting school theatre, we’re also investing in the future of the art form.”
